Narrow Lake is a 93-acre lake, large enough for water recreation, boating, jet skiing, water skiing, kayaking, and canoeing. There is also the no-wake zone, known as the Narrows, that is a serene spot perfect for fishing. This property is ideal for a couple of adults with a few kids. It is a small cottage with one bedroom with a queen bed and a dresser. It does have a grass beach (see photos) where you can enjoy the view or watch the kids swimming from the swim platform, fishing or you can roast marshmallows and hot dogs in the lakeside fire pit while you relax in the Adirondack chairs. We drive the pontoon to the middle of the lake and swim off from the diving platform anchored there. There is a complementary row boat , a small bass boat, a canoe and a basic pontoon to explore the lake. It’s a 10 minute short walk from the cottage or if you have a 4 wheel drive vehicle or a pick up truck, you can drive down the farm lane. We also have a golf cart you can rent. For a larger lake experience: Pleasant Lake public county park is 2 miles away where there is a public swimming beach. Need a secluded getaway? Our off-grid cabin is on approximately 10 acres of private woods. The cabin has a queen bed in the loft and two cots that can accommodate more guests. Guests must be able to climb a wooden log ladder. The kitchen has a two burner stove and oven that can hold a 9x13 pan. Although we do not have running water, we do have a hand washing sink as well as a sink for washing dishes. We also provide you with plenty of water for your stay. We also have dishes, utensils, hot dog sticks, fry pie makers, pots and pans, a tripod grill for over the fire and a small charcoal grill (bring your own charcoal). Outside, we have a fire pit, wood to collect or for purchase and a hammock to fully enjoy your stay. Our bathroom is an outhouse and has been described as the “cleanest outhouse in Michigan.” Within 1/4 mile is the St. Joe River which is a great place for kayaking. We also have kayaks and quads for rent. We also have some short trails on the property and a rail road bed adjacent to the cabin area. Our cabin is powered by a small and very quiet Honda generator. It is super easy to start. The cabin’s main source of heat is a wood stove with wood we provide. An air conditioner is provided for the summer. It is a very quiet area, so it is fine to enjoy conversations around the fire pit, and enjoy the stars at night, but you do need to keep the noise level down. Any larger group get togethers other than registered guests need to be approved first. (please let us know in advance if you think you might want to enjoy the fire-pit). I used to spend a lot of time on the road, so I wanted to create a space that truly was relaxing for the business traveler also. You will find although the house has the rustic charm and beautiful original floors... we put a great shower in, nice linens and different types of mattresses and toppers including a sleep number in the Master and updated or new appliances in the kitchen and a washer and dryer by the shower.

It was built in 1906 and only has had 4 owners. Originally it was a boarding house for teachers which lended to its unique layout with the kitchen being in the lower walkout level. The upper level has a large living space, 3 private bedrooms, and the bathroom. The bathroom has a single person jacuzzi jetted bathtub. The lower area has another large living space with the dining table, the kitchen and then the basement area with a washer and dryer. Also from the basement you can take a few stairs to the attached garage. There are two televisions, one of them is a Smart 4K 55" mounted on the wall in the lower area. The other is a smaller flatscreen in the upper area. The kitchen is supplied with all the basics so you can make yourself at home. The house will supply coffee and tea as well. Guest Access The entire house, garage and yard. Interaction with Guests I will be available by phone, text and email any time. The Neighborhood Historical neighborhood, steps away from the huge beautiful Moores River park. There is a large public pool there as well, basketballs courts, pavilions which you can rent and lots of playgrounds. Getting Around The Riverwalk trail head is steps away from the house. You walk 3 houses to the park and catch the trail head there. This trail can take you to several places in Lansing and East Lansing within minutes. Two bikes are in the garage and guests are welcome to use them as long as you agree to lock them up everywhere you go (locks provided). It's also great for rollerblading, skate boarding or jogging.

If you are a boater there are many large public lakes in the area. Enjoy nearby golf, wineries, parks, dining and much more. If you are looking for a party lake, this may not be for you. This is a quiet lake that does not allow jet skis.

This is a 3 bedroom ranch on the West side of Lansing. It's centrally located within minutes of MSU, Old Town and Cooley Law Stadium.
